Navigational Objects & Their Histories
This page will house images and descriptions of navigational instruments from the Peabody Essex Museum, Winterthur Museum, and perhaps eventually the National Maritime Museum. Detailed descriptions and more images are forthcoming.

Primary categories of objects include: compasses, sextants, octants, astrolabes, chronometers. A brief timeline and history of the development of these objects will also be included.
